This project is slowly being ported from the Blender Game Engine to the Unreal Engine 4 - using physically based material shaders and higher quality lighting. These screen shots show the current state, as of 2016. Click on the image to enlarge.
In the Antarctic summer of 1912 Captain R.F. Scott and his crew trekked across the frozen continent, attempting to be the first to reach the South Pole. They succeeded in attaining the pole, but were beaten by Roald Amundsen's expedition by only a few weeks.
Scott and four companions died on their return.
However, the race to the pole was only one part of the larger British Antarctic Expedition of 1910-14.
Before setting out, these explores and scientists spent the winter of 1911 in a custom-build structure. Here they prepared for their journey, conducted experiments and made important discoveries in fields from geology to meteorology to parasitology.

In the spring they left the comforts of the hut and headed to their fates, but in his journal Captain Scott had this to say:
"The hut [...] had worked out in the most satisfactory manner possible, and the scientific routine of observations was in full swing. The interior space seemed palatial, the light resplendent, and the comfort luxurious."
"Such fleeting hours are the treasured remembrance of every polar traveller."
