Creating Virtual Objects Using Photogrammetry

What is Photogrammetry?

In an over-simplified nutshell, photogrammetry is a process that converts the 2d information from set of images into 3d information. Here's an excellent in-depth explanation, if you want to learn more.
But we're going to keep this as simple as possible, but ensure the best results without getting too technical.

Step 1: Lighting the Object

The critical part of photogrammetry. Get this wrong, nothing else comes out right.

Step 2: Taking images

Once you've got the subject well lit, snap away! (Not really.)

Step 3: software

Three free options to choose from.

Step 4: Meshlab (Optional)

Time to get that mesh manageable.

Step 5: Blender and projection painting (Optional)

Pretty up the mesh, and then apply a photo.

Step 6: Getting it online

Fame and fortune here we come!
